A recent study by CRM Associates on the "Key to Yellow Pages Success" proves that the content of the ad makes the difference between whether or not a consumer contacts a business. Content is king!

Among other things, the study concluded that successful ads contained content that:

  • Is geographically specific
  • Contains multiple telephone numbers
  • Starts with headlines that give the consumer a reason to call the advertiser
  • Contains illustrations of solutions, not problems

Not all content is created equally. Consumers are looking for decision-making information in an ad that is easy to read and attractively designed. Hours of operation, service amenities (acceptable credit cards, guarantees or warrantees, delivery) and credentials win consistently high marks from consumers as reasons for swaying their business choice.
